Brass Lantern Studios

Peekaboo privacy policy

Effective 30 October 2026.

The short version

Peekaboo: Toddler Photos collects no personal data. It sends nothing to Brass Lantern Studios or to any third party. Everything you and your child do in the app stays on your device.

Who this is for

Peekaboo is designed for children under 5, used together with a grown-up. It is made for the Kids category on the App Store. Because the app collects nothing, it follows the principles of COPPA in the United States and UK GDPR, including the Age Appropriate Design Code.

What the app does not have

There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. The app contains no third-party SDKs.

Photos and videos

A grown-up chooses the photos and videos to use. Peekaboo copies them into the app's own storage on the device, so the originals in your photo library are never changed or removed.

Photo library access is used only to copy the items you choose, and for add-only access so that a saved drawing can be added to your library as a new photo.

Faces

Face detection and face matching run entirely on the device. Nothing about a face, and no image, is sent anywhere.

Names, voice recordings and drawings

Names, voice recordings of names, and drawings all stay on the device. The microphone is used only when a grown-up records a name, and never at any other time.

Speech recognition: when a grown-up records a name, the phone turns the recording into text on the device to fill in the name. The recording and text never leave the phone.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app deletes all of its data. As with other app data, it is included in your own device or iCloud backups under Apple's terms, which we do not control.

Contact and who is responsible

The data controller is Brass Lantern Studios Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17208101. If you have a question about this policy, email hello@brasslanternstudios.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
